Barbara Janssen
You can direct all your questions to Barbara before and during the program. She is your main point of contact and will be closely involved throughout. Together with Yenny, she organises the workshops.
Originally from the Netherlands, Barbara has been living in Barcelona for many years. She works as a therapist for people of all ages and has a strong passion for art. She is also the proud mother of two sporty teenagers who are growing up in a different country from where she was raised. In addition, she organises a variety of events in Barcelona and Madrid.
Fun fact: Barbara has four chickens named Frenkie, Bad Bunny, Chicken Joe and Paola.

Sports
Sander van der Weide
Olympic Gold Medallist, Founder and Director of The Hockey Department
Sander is responsible for the sports program. Before you begin, he will work with you to design a personalised training plan and select the most suitable trainer(s) to support your development.
For many years, Sander played for the Dutch national field hockey team, winning nearly every major international title available. For over 20 years, he has been living in Barcelona with his family. There, he founded his own company specialising in international training camps and tournaments, which he organises around the world.
A fun fact about Sander: despite experiencing concentration difficulties, he successfully completed two university degrees. He believes that sport played a key role in helping him develop focus and discipline.

Yenny Velasco
Founder & Director – Transformers Community
Psychosocial Therapist
Yenny is the founder and director of Transformers Community, where she leads impact-driven and innovative programs for young people. After many years of developing and facilitating workshops in the Netherlands, guiding young people along their personal journeys, she now focuses on building programs that help adolescents discover their own story, truly own it, and feel seen — so they can flourish in the world.
Born in Colombia and raised in the Netherlands, Yenny feels deeply connected to the Spanish language and culture. She loves working in an environment where these cultures blend together, especially alongside young people.
Fun fact: She literally and figuratively built her own home in The Netherlands.

After knowing each other for years and working separate on our own projects we bundled our strengths in 2025 and started this beautiful program.

The Spanish language comes almost organically with so many daily connections.
